FAQs

What is Ximple?
Ximple is a design philosophy focused on simplifying everyday objects, systems, and workflows.

What does Ximple do?
Ximple looks for pain points and simplifies them. We analyse systems and products, strip away unnecessary complexity, and share what works.

We review tools and products we believe are well-designed; some links may generate affiliate income, which helps fund further work.

What does Ximple make?
Products. Sometimes physical, sometimes digital. Always functional.

Why start with gear, especially why a backpack?
Because bad design is easiest to spot when you’re carrying it all day.

Is Ximple a backpack company?
No. Backpacks are one expression of the philosophy, not the end goal.

What makes Ximple different?
We remove things before adding them. Features, noise, assumptions.

Who is Ximple for?
People who value clarity, restraint, and things that quietly work.

Who is it not for?
Anyone chasing trends, maximalism, or “feature lists.”

Where are Ximple products made?
Wherever the design can be executed properly. Location is secondary to outcome.

Why so little marketing copy?
Because if something needs heavy explanation, it probably isn’t simple.

Who is behind Ximple?
A small group of retired medicos, designers and builders. Backgrounds vary. Standards don’t.

Is sustainability considered?
Yes. Fewer things, made better, replaced less often.

Can I collaborate with Ximple?
Possibly. If the problem is worth simplifying.

How do I stay updated?
Follow along. Read the blog posts. Join the mailing list. New projects appear when they’re ready.

Do you have an Archives page?
Yes. Archives.

Is there a simple way to remain updated on the build?
Yes. See below.
